Dominique Arnould

Dominique Arnould (born November 19, 1966 in Luxeuil-les-Baines ) is a former French cyclist and world champion in cycling .

Athletic career

His first major success was winning the French championship in cross-country race of amateurs 1989. Previously, he was twice on the podium at the championships of the juniors . He was also able to win this national title in 1993, 1994, 2002 and 2003. In addition, he was second or third on the podium several times. The highlight of his career was the victory at the UCI World Championships in cyclo-cross racing in 1993 in Corva ra, Italy, ahead of Mike Kluge . Arnould was also active as a road rider and mountain bike . In 1988 he became a professional in the Toshiba team , which also includes the GermansRemig Stumpf and Andreas Kappes drove. In 1991 he competed in the Tour de France for the first time and was classified as 68th. He rode the tour four times in total, and in 1992 , 48th place was his best result. He won the Giro di Puglia in Italy in 1992 and also won the first stage of the Tour de France.
