Tour de la Somme

The Tour de la Somme ( Grand Prix de la Somme since 2008 ) is a cycling race in France .

The race takes place in the French department of Somme . The race was held for the first time in 1986 and was a stage race for amateurs on the French calendar until 1998 (1996-1998 category 2.6). In 1999 the race was added to the international calendar, in category 2.5 (today's category 2.2). With the exception of the 2002 event (category 1.5), the stage version was retained until 2006.

With the introduction of the UCI Europe Tour , the race became part of this racing series, classified in UCI category 2.2 . Since 2007, the competition has been a one-day race in UCI category 1.1 .
