Tom Wood (special effects artist)

Tom Wood (* before 1990) is an English special effects artist who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2016 .

Life

He went to the UK to the art school . From the mid-1990s he worked at Cinecite in London on films such as Event Horizon - At the Edge of the Universe and Lost in Space . He then moved to Moving Picture Company , where he was involved in feature films such as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider , Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Kingdom of Heaven . In 2012 he moved to Australia to work on Mad Max: Fury Road for Iloura .

At the 2016 Academy Awards , along with Andrew Jackson , Dan Oliver and Andy Williams, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for his work on Mad Max: Fury Road .
