Tomi Mustonen (born May 31, 1983 in Oulu ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian ice hockey league since 2010 .
Career
Tomi Mustonen began his career as a hockey player at Kärpät Oulu , for which he made his debut in the SM-liiga in the 2001/02 season . After the season he left Oulu, for which he had already played in the youth division, and signed a contract with their league rivals JYP Jyväskylä . Although he was stranded there in 55 games of the regular season and five playoff games, he had the club after only one year left again so that Mustonen in the subprime Mestis changed where he ever a season for Hokki Kajaani and KalPa Kuopio played . Mustonen was particularly convincing during the KalPa season. Due to his 61 scorer points in 43 games, the attacker was signed in 2005 by his ex-club, the reigning champion Kärpät Oulu, with whom he was Finnish champion in 2007 and 2008 and reached the final of the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2006 which he and his team lost to the Russian rival HK Dynamo Moscow .
For the 2008/09 season Mustonen moved to Kärpät's league rivals Lukko Rauma . He then left the club and also played for IF Björklöven in HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division , for a year . Since the 2010/11 season he has been playing for the Slovenian club HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian ice hockey league .

For Finland Mustonen took part in the 2001 U18 World Junior Championship .
