Tomomi Takahashi

Tomomi Takahashi ( Japanese 高橋 卓 巳 , Takahashi Tomomi; born January 29, 1956 ) is a former Japanese pole vaulter .

At the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1978 he won gold and silver at the Asian Athletics Championships in 1979.

In 1981 he won the Pacific Conference Games and the Asian Championships. At the Athletics World Cup in Rome , he finished fourth.

In 1982 he defended his title at the Asian Games in New Delhi , and in 1983 he came in 19th place at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki .

At the 1984 Olympic Games , he failed to make a valid attempt in the final.

He was Japanese champion five times (1978, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1984) and once English champion (1982). He set his personal best of 5.53 m on May 6, 1984 in Tokyo .
