Tony Giglio (* 3. June 1971 , Medford , Massachusetts as Anthony Giglio Jr. ) is an American screenwriter and director .

Life

Anthony Giglio Jr. was born in Medford, Massachusetts. He attended the private Seton Hall University in South Orange , New Jersey, which he left in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts . He is a member of the Directors Guild of America , Writers Guild of America, and Screen Actors Guild unions.

Career

In 1995 Tony Giglio starred in the comedy Kicking and Screaming and for an episode in the television series Superman - The Adventures of Lois & Clark . In the same year he got a job as an assistant director on the comedy The Way We Are . Giglio then worked until 1997 as a production assistant for the films Faster than Death , Heat , Fear - When love is scary , Escape from LA , Bulletproof , A promise is a promise , The Dummies and Dante's Peak . During the same period he also gained experience as a set production assistant for the films T2 3-D: Battle Across Time and Das große Basketball-Kidnapping . In 1997 he continued to work as an assistant for the films Der Dummschwätzer , Anticipating Sarah and Dante's Peak . In 1999 he appeared for the first time as a producer on the comedy Soccer Dog - A dog stays on the ball in appearance, which he also directed himself. He directed the adventure film The Mercury Project (2000) at SecondUnit and the following year he was again responsible for the short film Love, Sex & Murder . This was followed by other films such as U-Boat (2004), Chaos (2005) and Timber Falls (2007) in which he directed. He also wrote the script for these three films. In 2010 he worked again as 2nd unit director on the film Resident Evil: Afterlife by Paul WS Anderson . After this engagement he wrote the script for and with Paul WS Anderson for the direct-to-DVD production Death Race 2 . For the sequel Death Race: Inferno he was also hired as a screenwriter. Giglio wrote the screenplay for the action film Arena (2011), starring Samuel L. Jackson . More B-films followed.
