The Tour Total Berlin ( French ; translated: 'Total Tower Berlin') is a high-rise building at Jean-Monnet-Straße 2 in the Berlin district of Moabit , north of Berlin's main train station . The building, which was built between 2010 and 2012, is owned by the real estate company CA Immo and has been rented by the mineral oil company Total as its German headquarters.

It is the first building in Europacity to be built around the area around the main station. CA Immo invested 50 million euros in the building.

Location and architecture

The Tour Total is located in the vicinity of the Hamburger Bahnhof and the "Art Campus". The construction of the building was advertised as an architectural competition, which the architects Barkow Leibinger won.

When completed, the building will have a height of 69 meters with 16 office floors and a technical floor, with a basement with an underground car park with three underground floors. The two-storey base is equipped with colonnades on the north facade and in front of the main entrance in the south. The bright grid facade consists of concrete elements . These are divided into K-shaped modules and T-elements. The three-dimensional structure of the facade results from the fact that the K-modules are mirrored and laterally offset from one another. A total of around 1300 elements were installed.

CA Immo planned the building as an ecologically sustainable building (“Green Building”) and received gold certification for the property from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

The building received the Concrete Architecture Prize in 2014 .

use

The building is owned by the company CA Immo and serves as the German headquarters of the mineral oil company Total . This was located in the Mossehaus on Schützenstrasse in Berlin-Mitte until October 2012 . Other tenants are the German headquarters of the British GoAhead transport company and eWings.com .

Construction began in June 2010 and on February 23, 2011 the foundation stone was laid by the then governing mayor, Klaus Wowereit . The building was completed and opened on October 12, 2012.
