Race course

After driving 40 kilometers, an eight-man breakaway group pulled away. Among others, Steven Tronet (France / Army de terre), Jenthe Biermans (Belgium / Katusha Alpecin) and Kevin Deltombe (Belgium / Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise) were there. The group had a lead of a maximum of six minutes. The group was placed 25 kilometers from the finish. Then about 6 men drove away from the field, including Daniel Oss (Italy / BMC) and Yves Lampaert (Belgium / Quick Step). This group was also caught up again. On the last ascent of the race, the Col de la Croix Jubaru , around 20 drivers were able to break away from the field. The group included Anthony Turgis (France / Cofidis), Daniel McLay (Great Britain / Fortuneo), Kenny Dehaes (Belgium / Wanty), Oliver Naesen (Belgium / AG2R) and Baptiste Planckaert (Belgium / Katusha Alpecin). Turgis attacked 800 meters from the finish line. It looked like he could win the race. But Turgis threw his arms in the air too early to cheer and was sprinted over by several drivers shortly before the finish line. Thus McLay won the sprint from Dehaes and Turgis.
