Träbes is a district of the southern Thuringian district town of Meiningen in the Franconian south of Thuringia .

location

Träbes is about two kilometers in the direction of Geba on the eastern slope of the Hohe Geba (751 m) and about 2 km from the village of Stepfershausen . The Rundlingsdorf is located on the district road 2572 in the very differentiated terrain of the Vordere Rhön . There are forests, planted Raine and bare slopes and agricultural land.

history

The village was first mentioned on February 26, 1354. The place was in the old possession of the county of Henneberg and was at that time a desolation of the knight Johann von Fladungen , which belonged to the Hennebergian cent Wasungen until the 14th century . The place name comes from "Tra (ge) bo (to)" (court of the Trabo).

When the Counts of Henneberg - Schleusingen died out in 1583, Träbes, including the jurisdiction of lower jurisdiction, was in noble hands, but belonged to the Amt of Maßfeld under state sovereignty . With this he came to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen in 1680 . In 1825 it was affiliated with the Meiningen office.

80 inhabitants live in the district in 2012. The Träbeser Loch natural monument bears the name of the district.

On December 31, 2019, Träbes and Stepfershausen were incorporated into the city of Meiningen on a voluntary basis.
