Tracy Grijalva (born January 3, 1959 in Whittier , California ), also known as Tracy G , is an American heavy metal or fusion guitarist . His parents are from Mexico .

Tracy Grijalva started playing the guitar at an early age, although he originally wanted to be a drummer . His parents borrowed a guitar for him to encourage him to practice. They promised that if he should practice for three months, they would get him his own guitar. At the age of eight he already owned his second instrument, his own Fender 'Blue Flower' Telecaster . His first job as a guitarist was in his father's band.

Tracy was particularly noticeable through the band's first album World War Three . After working with the German singer Mandy Lion , who emigrated to Los Angeles , during World War III, he was able to gain a foothold for some time in the band Dio of heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio , with whom he released three albums.

Tracy G is currently busy with his solo project The Tracy G Group , as well as his bands Goaded and Epic .

The numerous, spectacular sound effects with which he has enriched the guitar scene since the 1990s are particularly characteristic of the way Tracy G plays.
