Tragedy is a 1979 Bee Gees song , written by the band members, and appeared on the album Spirits Having Flown . Albhy Galuten, Karl Richardson, Barry , Maurice and Robin Gibb also produced the song.

history

The Gibb brothers and Too Much Heaven wrote the song after the filming of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band . Even the song Shadow Dancing by Andy Gibb was written at that time.

Although the song is not a soundtrack for the film Saturday Night Fever and was not intended for musical production, the song was still additionally recorded in London's West End .

In 1979, the National Broadcasting Company aired a Bee Gees special, which also showed how the sound effects in the song were created. Barry Gibb put his hands on the microphone and mimicked the exploding sounds with his mouth. Several of these effects have been mixed together and adjusted.

Released on February 1, 1979, in the United States, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada, France, Italy and Spain, the disco became number one hit.
