The Vaude Trans Schwarzwald is since 2006 in the Black Forest being transmitted Mountain - stage race . At the Trans Schwarzwald, the drivers compete against each other in different categories using time measurement. The event mainly addresses ambitious amateur athletes, but some well-known professional athletes also regularly take part in the event.

history

According to the organizers, the first German multi-day stage race for mountain bikers in 2005 was canceled due to a lack of approval from the individual municipal administrations. Karl Platt and Carsten Besser were among the registered participants .

The Trans Black Forest therefore took place for the first time in 2006 in five stages over a total of approx. 440 kilometers. The events from 2007 to 2010 were carried out over approx. 550 kilometers in seven stages. Since 2011 there have been five racing days again and the six annual stage locations are selected from a pool of 12, i. H. every stage is on average every two years. The stages involved have been since 2011: Bad Wildbad , Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach , Donaueschingen , Engen , Feldberg , Freudenstadt , Grafenhausen , Murg , Pforzheim , Sasbachwalden , Schonach in the Black Forest and Wolfach . The latter will be replaced by Offenburg from 2014 to 2017 [obsolete] .

Since then, about 400 kilometers and up to 10,000 meters in altitude have to be mastered annually on the Trans Black Forest.

Since 2013 there has been no team competition (two drivers), but only the possibility to start as a single driver with age class rating.

The race was added to the international calendar of the UCI World Cycling Federation for 2014 .
