Traugott Samuel Franke (born October 14, 1804 in Schellenberg ; † June 14, 1863 in Hanover ) was a German mathematician , university professor and second director of the Technical University of Hanover .

He studied mathematics at the University of Leipzig , where he received his doctorate in 1831. In the same year he became rector of the city school in Roßwein . From 1836 to 1849 he was a teacher of higher mathematics at the Technical Educational Institute and Building Trade School in Dresden . In 1838 he received the title of professor. In Dresden, the member of the Masonic lodge To the three swords and Asträa became the green diamond .

In 1849 he became a mathematics teacher and the last second director of the Technical University in Hanover.

On May 1, 1856, the Landsmannschaft Slesvico-Holsatia, later the Corps Slesvico-Holsatia , awarded him the ribbon.
