history

The region was probably settled prehistorically. The archaeologist Albert Kiekebusch reported in 1913 about excavations of a Neolithic settlement near Trebus and the post holes found there . The place was mentioned in a document in 1285 as Trybuss . As with Trebus in Upper Lusatia, the Slavic name suggests a clearing settlement; However, an interpretation of the origin of the name on a personal name cannot be ruled out. Regarding the ownership structure, it is known that Trebus came into the possession of the von Pfuel family in 1540 .

The listed Trebus church , which dates from the late 13th century, belonged to the Sedes Falkenhagen in the Middle Ages . The single-nave building was destroyed and rebuilt several times. After the church burned down at the end of the Second World War, the last major construction project was the reconstruction of the partially plastered field stone building in the 1950s. In 2018 the lattice tower will be completely dismantled and rebuilt. On August 10, 2019, the rebuilding of the half-timbered tower was celebrated with a service.

House of Culture of the MAS Trebus, "House of Peace", 1951

The castle, which was also destroyed in the Second World War, was demolished. The stones recovered from the ruins were reused in the construction of new farmers' houses. A machine lending station (MAS) was set up on the estate and one of the first culture houses in the GDR was built in 1951 on the site of the demolished castle ruins. Because of its 180-seat hall and the wide glass facade facing the lake, the “House of Peace” was considered one of the most beautiful cultural centers of that time.

The MAS Trebus was soon converted into a machine-tractor station and in the sixties into a district operation for agricultural technology (KfL).

After the fall of the Wall , Trebus was incorporated into Fürstenwalde / Spree on December 6, 1993. The IFA Friends Trebus have been domiciled on the KfL site since 2003. They collect vehicles, furniture, teaching aids and other utensils that were produced in the GDR and imported from other Eastern European countries.

Local Advisory Board Trebus

The local advisory council Trebus of the city of Fürstenwalde consists of 3 members. The chairwoman of the advisory board, Sandra Dorsch (non-party), is also the mayor. The election for the Trebus local council in 2014 resulted in the following distribution of seats:

  • Proposal for election "Sandra Dorsch": 1 seat (mayor)
  • Nomination for "André Grosser": 1 seat (Deputy Mayor)
  • Nomination for "DIE LINKE" (Monika Fiedler): 1 seat
