The Triftbach is an artificially created canal in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim , which branches off to the left of the Mangfall above Bruckmühl am Wuhrhaus . It immediately takes up the almost 9 km long Feldkirchner Bach , which contributes over half of the catchment area, and is called Alter Triftbach for a short stretch up to Bruckmühl . Overall, the Triftbach runs for almost 12 kilometers at a fluctuating distance of mostly less than half a kilometer next to the Mangfall to the east-southeast and runs through the area of Markt Bruckmühl and the city of Bad Aibling . Shortly before the mouth of the Glonn , it flows back into the Mangfall at the southern edge of the river .
With the creation of the Triftbach, the delivery of drifted wood for the wood processing industries was simplified. The Triftbach is also used to generate electrical energy .
