The Tristenspitz (also Trist'n ) is located in the Reisseck group and at 2930 meters is the highest mountain in the municipality of Obervellach in Mölltal (Austria).

It forms the eastern end of the Kaponigtal with the Pfaffenberger Alm. In the south extends the Zwenberger Hochalm , at the end of which lies the Lower Zwenberger See ( 2229  m ). In the northeast is the Gößgraben , a side valley of the Maltatal .

The summit can be climbed from the Gießener Hütte and from the Arthur-von-Schmid-Haus . Both paths meet at the Kaponigtörl and take about 3–5 hours. Alternatively, the ascent from the Reißeckhütte to the south is possible. This tour takes about 4–6 hours. To the east, below the summit, there is a high trail called the Reißeckhöhenweg between Kaponigtörl and Zwenberger Scharte.

The name is derived from the word Tristen or Dristen , which means a conical or conical haystack.
