The Trueb is an approximately 14 kilometers long right tributary of the Ilfis in the Swiss canton of Bern . It drains 54.6 square kilometers of the Napfbergland in the upper Emmental .
course
The Trueb rises on the southern slope of the Hängst ( 1372 m ) a little east of the Napf ( 1408 m ) in the municipal area of Trub directly on the border with the canton of Lucerne . The river, which is called Fankhusbach in the upper reaches , flows through the Fankhusgraben in a south-westerly direction above Trub and takes in several streams, including the Hüttenbach and the Brandöschbach. It now flows through Trub, absorbs the Sältenbach and Twärengraben and flows into the Ilfis at Trubschachen .
