The TuS Niederpleis is a sports club from the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Sankt Augustin . It was founded in 1901 in the Niederpleis municipality , which has belonged to Sankt Augustin since 1969. According to its own information, the association has around 820 members and offers badminton , handball , cycling , table tennis , gymnastics , volleyball and hiking .

Handball

The TuS Niederpleis is known nationwide for its handball department, whose men have played in the regional handball league for several years and have so far participated in the main round of the DHB Cup four times . When they first participated in the 1989/90 season , TuS reached the second round with a 23:20 win at TSV Altenholz , in which they were eliminated from Bundesliga club TBV Lemgo with 21:26. Also in their second participation in 1998/99, the Niederpleiser were eliminated in the second round against a Bundesliga club, ThSV Eisenach . In the seasons 2000/01 and 2003/04 the Tus lost its first round game.
