Tufanbeyli (until 1965 Mağra ) is a district town and the northernmost district of Adana Province in Turkey . Since a regional reform in 2014, the municipality (Belediye) and the district (İlçe) are congruent. The district is 851 km² and borders on the provinces of Kayseri and Kahramanmaraş . Tufanbeyli has been an independent district since 1958. In 1965 the place was named after a hero of the Kuvayı Milliye Osman Tufan Bey.

The city is 196 km from Adana , but closer to the neighboring provincial capitals Kayseri (178 km) and Kahramanmaraş (160 km). The highest mountain in the Tahtalı Mountains at 3,075 m is located in the Tufanbeyli district.
