Tullio Odorizzi

Tullio Odorizzi (born February 20, 1903 in Cles , † July 7, 1991 in Trento ) was an Italian politician of the Democrazia Cristiana .

Odorizzi studied law until 1924 and then worked as a lawyer. He served as a soldier in the Abyssinian War and in Albania during World War II . On September 8, 1943, he was deported to Germany and returned to Trento in 1945.

In the elections of September 26, 1946, he was elected to the city council and became mayor on December 14th after the sudden death of Luigi Battisti . He held this office until 1948.

From 1949, immediately after the establishment of the Trentino-Alto Adige region, Odorizzi was the first president of the regional government of Trentino-Alto Adige , for three legislative periods from January 5, 1949 to January 3, 1961. In the two following periods he was a simple member of the Regional council. In the following years he held various political offices.

In 2003, on the occasion of Odorizzi's 100th birthday, a conference was held in honor of the then President of the Region, Carlo Andreotti, and the life senator Giulio Andreotti .
