Flavio Mengoni

Flavio Mengoni (* 1929 in Rabbi ; † June 20, 2013 in Trento ) was an Italian lawyer and politician.

Mengoni was born in 1929 in the village of Rabbi, in a side valley of the Val di Sole , as the son of a lawyer, but spent most of his life in Trento . The brother of the later Italian constitutional judge Luigi Mengoni (1922-2001) studied law at the Università Cattolica in Milan and ran a law firm with Bruno Kessler , his long-time political companion.

In 1973 Mengoni was elected to the list of Democrazia Cristiana in the Trentino state parliament and at the same time the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . From 1974 to 1976 he was vice-president of the regional government , from 1976 to 1977 he was president of the Trentino-South Tyrol region, and from 1979 to 1985 he was governor of Trentino . In 1988 Mengoni left the state parliament in order to devote himself to his profession as a lawyer again.
