Tullio Rossi

Tullio Rossi (born February 28, 1903 in Rome , † September 4, 1997 in Florence ) was an Italian architect . He was one of the most prolific church builders in the Rome area.

Life

He completed his architecture studies at the scuola di architettura della capitale in Rome in 1928 and won the premio Valadier prize for his dissertation. He learned the craft from another great Roman architect, Clemente Busiri Vici , with whom he worked until 1930.

At the beginning of his self-employment , he concentrated on residential and sacred buildings . He planned several villas between 1934 and 1938. In Rome it was the Villa Ricci Bartoloni, the Villa Marquis Sollero del Borgo, Collegio Capranica, the Villa Cidonio and in Italy the Villa Falconi, Villa Rizzani and the Villa Medioli.

In 1945 he founded Studio San Giorgio in Florence with Pier Niccolò Berardi . Together they won the competition for the reconstruction of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. In 1949 he planned the American military cemetery in Florence.
