The Tulpspitze ( 3,054 m above sea level ) is a mountain peak on the Wallhorn ridge in the Venediger Group in East Tyrol ( Austria ). It is located in the north of the municipality of Prägraten am Großvenediger . Neighboring peaks are the Zopetspitze in the north and the Kreuzspitze in the southwest.
location
The Tulpspitze lies between the Zopetscharte ( 2958 m above sea level ) in the north and the Tulpscharte ( 2948 m above sea level ) in the south, whereby the Zopetscharte is the Tulpspitze from the Zopetspitze ( 3198 m above sea level ) and the Tulpscharte the Tulpspitze separates from Kreuzspitze ( 3,164 m above sea level ). To the west of the Tulpspitze is the Zopetspitze cirque, which slopes down to the Hinterbichler Dorfertal and the Dorfer Bach. To the east is the Kleinitzalm in the rearmost Timmeltal with the ice lake.
Promotion opportunities
The Tulpspitze has a north and a south ridge, with the normal route running over the south ridge. To do this, the ascent takes place from the Johannishütte via the Venediger Höhenweg to the junction to the Kreuzspitze and from here to the Tulpscharte. The south ridge can then be climbed without difficulty. As an alternative, there is the north ridge, which can be reached from the Johannishütte or the Eisseehütte . The path first leads into the Zopetscharte and from here over block steps north to a striking, white ridge tower. This is bypassed to the west, so that a gap behind it is reached. The final ascent on the earthy Schrofen flank to the summit ( I + ) runs over a steep step and large blocks .
