Uğur Dağdelen (born October 3, 1973 in Amasya , † September 24, 2015 in Merzifon ) was a Turkish football player . Due to his many years of work for Samsunspor , he is associated with this association.
Player career
society
Dağdelen began club football in the youth department of Merzifonspor and was accepted into the professional squad here in 1990. A short time later he established himself in the team and played for them for the next three seasons.
In the summer of 1993 he moved to the top Turkish league, in the 1st Lig , to the promoted Demir Çelik Karabükspor . At this club he made it straight into the regular formation and ensured through his goals that his club retained the chance of relegation until the end of the season. When Karabükspor had to relegate anyway, Dağdelen went with his team in the 2nd Lig . For Karabükspor he played in the second league until the end of November 1994 and was loaned to the first division side Bursaspor for the rest of the season .
In the summer of 1995 Dağdelen left Karabükspor and switched to the first division team Samsunspor . Here he immediately won a place in the starting eleven and kept it for about one and a half seasons. In the 1996/97 season he lost his regular place to Cenk İşler and came mainly through substitutions for game stakes. For the 1997/98 season he was loaned to the league rivals Kayserispor . At this club, Dağdelen had his best season personally. He scored 14 goals in 27 league games, making him one of the league's most successful goal scorers. He also rose to the national team. However, his club failed to stay up. For the new season he returned to Samsunspor and played here for two more seasons without being able to build on his successes at Kayserispor. In October 2000, he dissolved his contract with Samsunspor and then ended his active career.
National team
Dağdelen played ten times for the Turkish U-21 national team and scored one goal.
Due to his shown performances at Kayserispor , Dağdelen was nominated by the then national coach Mustafa Denizli as part of a test match against Russia in the squad of the Turkish national team . In the game of April 22, 1998, he completed his first and only international match.
death
On September 24, 2015 killed Dağdelen himself in his apartment in Merzifon itself ; he was 41 years old.
