The Schauspielhaus Bochum underground station is a subway station of the Bochum Stadtbahn . It is located at the intersection of Hattinger Straße and Königsallee near the Bochum theater . The first groundbreaking took place on July 5, 1971. It was built using the cut- and- cover method ( shotcrete method ) and opened on May 26, 1979. The length of the shell was 306 m. The walls of the station are covered with colored large-format ceramic tiles. It has two side platforms and is served by the 308 and 318 trains. Two handicapped accessible elevators were put into operation in 2002. In Germany's first industry tunnel, specialist dealers and service providers are located on an area of ​​700 m².
