The Bochum Hauptbahnhof underground station is located under Bochum Hauptbahnhof . It is served by lines U35 , 302, 306, 308, 310 and 318 of the Bochum Stadtbahn .
structure
The tower station has three levels. The top level serves only as a distribution level and has a few shops and a service office for the Bogestra . The meter-gauge lines (1000 mm) 306, 308 and 318 stop on the middle level. The two tracks are on two side platforms. On the lowest level, in two halls, there are the standard-gauge tracks (1435 millimeters) for the U 35 line and the meter-gauge tracks for the tram lines 302 and 310, with the two platforms between the standard-gauge tracks running in the middle and the outer meter-gauge tracks.
history
The opening took place on May 26, 1979 with the commissioning of the tunnel section for lines 308 and 318 from the main train station via Berliner Platz and the Schauspielhaus underground station to the ramp at the Bergmannsheil stop on Hattinger Straße .
The opening for the section to Herne of the U35 took place on September 2, 1989. It was extended in 1993 by the section to the Hustadt district .
Lines 302 and 310 have been running underground in the inner city since January 29, 2006.
Also in 2006 the underground connection of the line 306 between the town hall and the main train station was opened.
Screens have been installed on the platforms since 2012 to reduce the waiting time for passengers.
