The Planetarium underground station is a tunnel station for the Bochum Stadtbahn . It is located near the Bochum Planetarium and the Hildegardis School below Castroper Straße. It is served by the meter-gauge lines 308 and 318. Its shell length was 794 meters. It was opened on November 28, 1981 and has a central platform. In the direction of the city, the next stop is the Bochum Hauptbahnhof underground station .

On the walls of the station hall there are pictures of the twelve signs of the zodiac based on designs by Heinz Schroeteler . A cast of a meteorite from Namibia is exhibited on the platform , the original of which is in the German Mining Museum in Bochum .
