The Riemke Markt underground station is a tunnel station of the Bochum Stadtbahn in the independent city of Bochum . It is the central stop in the Riemke district of Bochum .

The station opened in 1989. The shell length was 814 m. Eight large-format photos of the Riemker Markt are shown on the tunnel walls in the driving level.

Location and structure

The underground station is located in the center of Riemke under Herner Straße. It has two exits. The southern one leads to Moritzstrasse and the northern one to the eponymous market. This output provides through a lift installation a barrier-free access to the middle platform.

It is located about 590 meters south of the Rensingstrasse underground station and about 940 meters north of the Zeche Constantin underground station .

The subway station has a sweeping system , as from here the timetable offer towards Bochum city center - Ruhr University - Hustadt is condensed during rush hour .

The underground station is served by the normal-gauge line U35 of the Bochum urban railway between Bochum and Herne , which runs in north-south direction .

Riemke Markt is the central station in Bochum-Riemkes. Therefore there are transfer relationships to bus routes. Like the U35, these are operated by Bogestra .
