The USS Louisiana (SSBN-743) is a nuclear-powered submarine of the United States Navy and belongs Ohio class at. As a ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear (SSBN), it carries 24 ICBMs .
history
The Louisiana was approved in 1990 as the last boat in her class and was laid down in October 1992. Boatyard was the Group for General Dynamics belonging Electric Boat in Groton , Connecticut . Construction lasted until July 1996, when SSBN-743 was launched and named after the US state of Louisiana . The official commissioning took place in September 1997.
The boat was stationed in Kings Bay , Georgia , but moved to Washington and thus to the Pacific in 2005.
