Udo Wid

Udo Wid (* 1944 in Upper Austria ) is an Austrian painter , conceptual artist and biophysicist .

Live and act

After studying physics at the University of Vienna, Wid was involved in scientific research in the field of biophysics at the Seibersdorf reactor center .

He received his artistic training as a guest auditor at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Wild has been a member of the MAERZ artists' association and the Vienna Secession since 1986 . At the same time, he dealt with cultural theory and projects on everyday practice, combining art and science .

With funds from the Science Promotion Fund, he implemented a first ELF project on the Hohe Warte . In 1977 he set up an ELF measuring station designed as a hut in the Waldviertel and lived there for four years in the forest. Wid lives and works in Vienna .
