Udo Zylla

Udo Zylla (born February 8, 1929 in Beeskow ) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party NDPD and from 1986 to March 1990 a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR.

Life

Udo Zylla, the son of an employee, worked after attending middle school from 1946 to 1950 as a forest worker and forest assistant at the forestry office in Neubrück near Rietz-Neuendorf . During this time he graduated from the forestry school and the forest school. Zylla had been a member of the FDJ and the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) since 1946 . In 1950 he joined the NDPD , a bloc party founded in 1948. In 1951 he began his full-time activity as a political employee in the NDPD district association Fürstenwalde , later he became chairman of the district association Dippoldiswalde .

From 1951 to 1954 Zylla taught as an assistant and teacher at party schools of the NDPD. From 1956 to 1959 he completed a distance learning course in history at the German Central Pedagogical Institute with a degree as a specialist history teacher. He finished studying at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig from 1960 to 1961 as a graduate teacher for ( Marxism-Leninism ). In 1972 he was at the University of Leipzig with a thesis on The National Democratic Party of Germany and socialist internationalism doctorate .

Zylla worked for the secretariat from 1955, worked in the office of the presidium of the main committee of the NDPD from 1964 and was its head from 1972. From 1973 to 1990 he was a member of the NDPD main committee, from 1982 also its secretariat. At the 10th session of the Main Committee on December 5, 1985, he was elected a member of the Presidium and Secretary of the Main Committee. From 1986 to March 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR . Here he was deputy chairman of the Committee on National Defense.
