The Ulbeja ( Russian Ульбея ) is a tributary of the Sea of Okhotsk in the north of the Khabarovsk region in the Far East of Russia .

The Ulbeja has its source in the Suntar Chajata Mountains . The first 15 km of the river, up to the confluence of the Prochodnoi from the right, are named Granitny. The Ulbeja flows in a southerly direction along the western mountain range of the Kuchtuigebirge and flows into a lagoon of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk after 399 km east of Okhotsk . The river freezes between late October and mid-November. In May the Ulbeja is ice-free again. The Ulbeja drains an area of ​​13,500 km². The river is used by salmon fish for spawning . Important tributaries of the Ulbeja are the Assibergan from the left and the Ulberikan from the right. The Ulbeja runs between the rivers of Kuchtui in the west and Inja in the east.
