Ulli Schwinge

Ulli Schwinge (born March 8, 1955 in Halle ) is a German composer , pianist and pop singer .

Life

Rocker visited in 1959 the Conservatory in Halle, where he in classical piano concert pianist trained. This was followed by a visit to the Leipzig Music Academy from 1971 to 1975 and vocal studies from 1982 to 1986. Since Schwinge wanted to work as a sound engineer later , he trained as an IT specialist, studied programming and information processing and worked for several years as an IT specialist.

After finishing the Leipzig Music Academy, Schwinge was a member of various rock bands. He began to compose his own songs in the 1970s, which were produced on the GDR's state radio . From 1984 he was active as a solo artist. At that time, Schwinge became known for hits in the GDR. Everything I Love and A Moment took first place in the hit revue on Radio DDR in 1988 and 1989 and were the annual winners in the hit magazine of the Berliner Rundfunk . “Before the fall of the Wall, the people of Halle broke women's hearts in every East German hit parade.” After two successful singles, the Amiga produced the album Everything I Love in 1989 with Schwinge . Among other things, Schwinge was awarded the Silver Bong by the television program Bong . The turnaround ended his career as a pop singer abruptly: “In 1990, until the end of June, I had around 50 gigs every month, which ended with the day of monetary union. All contracts that still existed were terminated, suddenly there was no more money for culture, ”said Schwinge looking back.

Schwinge composed Schlager even after 1990 and was able to publish his second LP No Time to Dream in 1992. Schwinge had its greatest successes in South Africa in the 1990s. Several of his compositions have been re-recorded by African artists, including Wir sind als wir sind , published by singer Bles Bridges as Vlerke in die Wind . For the record sales in South Africa, Schwinge has received several gold records and a platinum record. In 1997, Schwinge represented Saxony-Anhalt with the title Das Lachen der Sieger at the musical gala for German unity, Good Evening Germany , moderated by Dieter Thomas Heck .

Schwinge is also active as a music producer and wrote songs for Graham Bonney ( The Summer with Marie ), Siw Malmkvist (Duet Do You Think Really ... ), Nina Lizell (Duet Maybe ), Hans-Jürgen Beyer ( Cloud 7 ) and Gaby Rückert , among others . Through working with Gaby Rückert, he came into contact with Gisela Steineckert , who was a copywriter for Rückert at the time. Steineckert wrote the lyrics for his fifth album Liederbriefe , which was released in 2011. From September 2011 Schwinge went on tour with Steineckert.

In February 2016, Schwinge released the single Die Kraft der Emotions , for which he first worked with lyricist Rainer Thielmann . Schwinge and Thielmann wrote more songs in the period that followed. In November 2018, the single Morgen ist auch ein Tag was released . The release of the new album A Few Chords took place on March 8, 2019.

Schwinge is married, has two children and lives in Schortewitz .
