Ulrich Brock

Ulrich Brock (born September 19, 1955 in Verl ) is a German television producer , television director and media manager.

Brock studied media studies from 1977 to 1982 at the University of Osnabrück and graduated with a Magister Artium . Then he went to Radio Bremen , where he met Rudi Carrell . After a time as assistant director Brock rose to director of the Carrell entertainment shows Die verflixte Sieben , Rudi's Tagesshow and finally The Rudi Carrell Show - Let yourself be surprised and later also staged editions of The World Laughs About It , an entertainment show with Hape Kerkeling .

In 1995 he switched from public service programming to private television and became program director of Sat.1 . Here he was responsible for the development of daily program formats. In this function, Brock also developed the Sat.1 entertainment formats Die Wochenshow , Die Quizshow and The Hour of Truth from 1997 . From 1997 to 2001 Brock took over the entertainment program for the same broadcaster. In the new millennium, Brock, who has been managing director of Constantin Entertainment GmbH (at that time "Kirch Media Entertainment") founded by him and Fred Kogel and Otto Steiner since 2001 , produced such diverse entertainment formats as Family Showdown , Clever! - The show that creates knowledge , Judge Alexander Hold , Das Strafgericht , Lenßen & Partner , K11 - Commissioners in action as well as personality shows with Otto Waalkes and Uri Geller .

Since 2005 Ulrich Brock has been the responsible managing director and producer for all foreign productions of the Constantin Entertainment Group, at Sat.1. From 2006 he positioned Constantin Entertainment as an international production company and founded locally operating subsidiaries in 18 countries (including Poland, Israel, Switzerland and the Czech Republic). Brock also produced German comedy formats such as WunderBar and Ich bin Boes during this period . At the end of 2018, the managing director withdrew from Constantin Entertainment. The reason given was "different ideas about the content and strategic direction of the company"
