Ulrich Carl von Ahlefeld

Count Ulrich Carl von Ahlefeld (born November 27, 1704 , † November 12, 1758 in Worbingburg ) was a Danish officer, most recently in the rank of lieutenant general .

Life

Origin and family

Ulrich Carl was a member of the Holstein- Danish noble family von Ahlefeld . His parents were Count Carl von Ahlefeldt (1670–1722) and Countess Ulrica Amalie Antoinette nee. von Danneskiold-Laurvig (1686–1755). The two generals Friedrich von Ahlefeldt (1702–1773) and Conrad Wilhelm von Ahlefeldt (1707–1791) as well as the prioress of the Uetersen Monastery Marie Antoinette von Ahlefeldt (1711–1764) were his siblings. He himself remained unmarried and died without leaving any children.

Career

After he entered the Danish military service and had already advanced to lieutenant colonel , he became chamberlain in 1735 . He then rose to the rank of colonel and in 1741 became a knight of the Dannebrog Order . In 1747 he was promoted to major general and in 1755 to lieutenant general. Before that he was in command of the 2nd Jülischen Cuirassier Regiment.

Ahlefeldt was buried in the family crypt in Tranekær.
