Ulrich Minkus (born November 11, 1940 in Kreuzburg ) is a German architect and artist .

Vita

Ulrich Minkus was born in Kreuzburg, Upper Silesia in 1940 . After the escape, the Minkus family settled near Erfurt in 1945 . After training as a carpenter , Ulrich Minkus studied architecture and design at the technical college for applied arts in Magdeburg and Heiligendamm, where he received his diploma as an interior designer in 1964 . Ulrich Minkus then studied civil engineering at the building school in Gotha and at the college for industrial design at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle , where he graduated as an architect in 1971 . Ulrich Minkus worked as an interior designer in the Erfurt housing consultancy and at the international horticultural exhibition in Erfurt .

Ulrich Minkus has been working as a freelance artist in his studio in Friedrichsdorf near Erfurt since 1970 . In addition to commissions for the design of public buildings in the field of art in architecture, he and his employees, including his son Friedrich Minkus, realized numerous open space designs and playable wooden sculptures. In Leipzig , his work can be seen in the Grünanlage am Brühl ( Richard Wagner Strasse) and in Weimar in the Franz Liszt School of Music Weimar as well as in the outdoor area of ​​the Museum of Prehistory and on the taxiway. He designed churches in Gotha and the sanctuary of the Catholic Church in Storkow (Mark) .
