Ulrich Reinhardt (born December 6, 1970 in Bremerhaven ) is a German futurologist from Hamburg-Rissen .

Life

Since September 2014 Reinhardt has been a full professor for empirical future research in the economics department of the West Coast University of Applied Sciences in Heide. In 2011 he took over the scientific management of the Foundation for Future Issues - an initiative of British American Tobacco and is co-editor of the international journal European Journal of Futures Research (EJFR). Reinhardt researched Europeans' hopes for the future, worked together with the Federal Chancellery on the research project “Germany's Next Years”, and is a founding member of the Bayreuth Future Symposium and the foundation's “Delphi Dialogues”.

academic career

After studying educational science and psychology at the University of Hamburg , Ulrich Reinhardt started in 1999 as a doctoral student at what was then the BAT Leisure Research Institute. When it was converted into the Foundation for Future Issues in 2007, he became a managing director of the foundation. At the same time he was a lecturer at the University of Hamburg, the Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg and at the University of Bayreuth . At the beginning of 2011 Reinhardt succeeded Horst W. Opaschowski as scientific director of the foundation and was offered a three-year research professorship at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences . This was followed by a professorship at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences .
