Ulrich Skubella

Ulrich Skubella (born March 4, 1941 in Gleiwitz ) is a German medic .

Skubella was born as the son of a dentist in what was then Gleiwitz in Upper Silesia . Expelled from there as a result of World War II , the family first moved to Mecklenburg and then to Bad Kreuznach in 1954 , where Skubella graduated from high school in 1960 . After studying medicine in Mainz , he worked in Mainz, Herford , Berlin and Eschweiler and trained as a specialist in anesthesia in Bremen . In 1976 he went to the Hospital of the Holy Spirit in Fritzlar, North Hesse , as a specialist in anesthesia .

Skubella, who has also made a name for himself regionally as a pianist and composer, subsequently became very involved in the city's cultural life. He founded the local cultural association in 1990, played a decisive role in establishing the “Vor dem Dom” series of events in 1994/95, and founded the “Pro Fritzlar” association in 1995, which is dedicated to maintaining the city's historical heritage and promoting its tourist potential . For this commitment, Skubella was made an honorary citizen of the city of Fritzlar on November 19, 2015. In November 2010 he was also the first chairman of the “Kultursommer Nordhessen” association.
