Ulrich von Friedingen , also Ulrich II. Von Friedingen († June 5, 1358 ) was elected Bishop of Constance from 1356 to 1357.

Ulrich von Friedingen comes from a noble, noble Hegau family, the Lords of Friedingen . Life

Ulrich II. Von Friedingen, born around 1304, was a younger or the youngest son of Hans I. von Friedingen . He was already at the age of eleven pastors in Friedingen , although he no religious consecration had. At the age of 18, meanwhile consecrated, he also received the parish of St. Peter and Paul in Mühlhausen . In 1324 Ulrich was enrolled in Bologna to study , which was financed by his parishes in Friedingen and Mühlhausen. In 1328, at the age of 24, he got a canon position in Freising and, at an unknown time, also the archdeaconate at Freising Cathedral , which was also left to him for the chaplain of St. Thomas in Freising. In 1336 the Freising St. Vitus Church joined. 1341 Ulrich was by Pope Benedict XII. , who resided in Avignon , was placed in a canon position in Constance . At the same time he received the archdeaconate in Breisgau and then the parishes of Pfyn , Wigoltingen and Rickenbach in Thurgau and the church of St. Paul in Konstanz . From 1342 Ulrich von Friedingen lived as a Constance canon in a "courtyard at the Schottentor". On February 5, 1356 he was elected Bishop of Constance . Since three canons proposed Count Albert II von Hohenberg in this election , four canons abstained and three were not present, the Pope was called in Avignon . In May 1357, the Pope finally decided on Henry III. from Brandis .

Ulrich II von Friedingen died on June 5, 1358.
