geography

The church village Ummendorf is located about two kilometers west of Pürgen on a slope of the Ammerseegletscher that runs from north to south .

history

Ummendorf was first mentioned in 740. The name of the place is probably derived from the personal name Ummo.

In 1450 12 farms are mentioned in Ummendorf. Two properties each are available for the Hl. Geist Spital Landsberg and Altomünster Monastery and one property each for the Landsberg Parish, the Wessobrunn Monastery , the Spötting Church and the Electoral Lehnshof Munich.

In the course of the municipal edicts, the municipality of Ummendorf was established in the Landsberg district court in 1818 .

The church village was an independent community until it was incorporated into Pürgen on July 1, 1971.
