Altheim substation
The Altheim substation is a substation in the Altheim district of Essenbach . It is located next to the Altheim hydropower plant . As an important component of the power supply in Lower Bavaria , it has the voltage levels 220 and 110 kV. In addition, as the first system of this size in Bavaria and part of the Reichssammelschiene, it played an important role in the development of the Bavarian and all-German transmission network.
Today the substation is operated by the companies TenneT TSO (220 kV) and the E.ON subsidiary Bayernwerk (110 kV).
history
The substation was built as part of the so-called Reichssammelschiene. Between 2015 and 2019, the system was rebuilt. The planned replacement of the Reichssammelschiene as the Jura line from Raitersaich via Ludersheim and Sittling ends in Altheim, as does the replacement to St. Peter , which is currently in the planning approval process .
