history

As a result of the Second World War , the number of Catholics in Mandelsloh, which has been evangelical-Lutheran since the introduction of the Reformation , increased due to the influx of refugees and displaced persons from the eastern regions of the German Empire . As early as 1946, a Catholic parish was established in Mandelsloh, which first bought a half-timbered house built in 1808, used it as a rectory from 1956 and set up an emergency church there. This church already bore the patronage of the Immaculate Heart of Mary , on July 5, 1959 its benediction took place .

In 1976 the new Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was built. It was built opposite the Protestant St. Osdag Church . At that time, Karl-Ludwig Herzig (* 1939) was a pastor in Mandelsloh. Around 1990 the Immaculate Heart of Mary was an independent parish with branch churches in Hagen and Rodewald . Since November 1st, 2006 the church has belonged to the parish of St. Peter and Paul in Neustadt am Rübenberge, the parish of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Neustadt-Mandelsloh was dissolved in this context.

On June 2, 2009 the church was profaned by Vicar General Werner Schreer , and the church and rectory were sold to private customers in the same year.
