Floorball World Championship 2018 / qualification
Several qualifying tournaments were held for the 12th Floorball World Cup in Prague in 2018 .
Overview
The host Czech Republic is directly qualified for the finals in Prague. The remaining 32 teams played in continental qualifying tournaments for the other 15 starting places. The places were distributed as follows:
- Europe: 11 participants including the host Czech Republic
- Asia and Oceania: 4 participants
- America: 1 participant
Europe
Four tournaments were played in Europe. They qualified for the finals
- the two best-placed teams
- the two best third place finishers of all European qualifying tournaments.
Since the tournament groups consisted of five and six participants, the games against the last placed team were not taken into account when determining the best third place in the groups of six. The following criteria then applied:
- Average score
- Average goal difference
- Average goals scored
- Lottery procedure
