history

First Rohrbacher sports club

The "Christian-German Gymnastics Club" was founded in Rohrbach in 1931 as the first sporting association. The first chairman was Heinrich Thurnherr. From earlier chronicles of the Union Rohrbach / Berg it can be seen that gymnastics was the focus of this club and that gymnastics took place up to four days a week. In addition to the sporting activities, the social part was not neglected either. The Christian-German gymnastics club also organized a Santa Claus wreath, a Christmas party and a midsummer bonfire and played theater. In the founding year, the first club championships in skiing were held, in which Gustav Eybl had won. In the course of the club's history there have been several changes in the chairman's position. In addition to Heinrich Thurnherr, Heinrich Lego, Friedrich Kuen and Eduard Englisch were also chairmen of the Christian-German gymnastics club. At the beginning of March 1938 the sports club was banned and dissolved. The entire facility and gymnastics equipment were confiscated.

Association founded in 1946

The Rohrbach / Berg Sports Union was founded on May 23, 1946. The sports club was launched at the urging and initiative of Rohrbach sports pioneers Fritz Walter, Johann Eichbauer, Rudolf Zeller and Hermann Mathie. Hermann Mathie took over the office of chairman and was supported on the board by the following people: Rudolf Hubmann, Anton Fuchs, Johann Küblböck, Rudolf Zeller, Hilda Lackner, Zilli Eberstaller and Fritz Walter.

In the first few years, the sports union had the sections football , gymnastics , table tennis and winter sports .

Development of the Union Rohrbach / Berg

In the year it was founded, the Rohrbach / Berg Sports Union had over 50 members. The sports union continued to develop and over time, other sections were added in addition to the founding sections. This also led to an increase in membership. The Union Rohrbach / Berg grew into one of the largest Upper Austrian sports clubs and had over 750 members on its 50th anniversary. The Union Rohrbach / Berg also had an Olympian in its ranks. J. Eisner took part in gymnastics at the Olympic Games.

The Union Rohrbach / Berg was and is a stronghold of team sports such as soccer , fistball and tennis . The tennis section had 300 members at their wedding. Around 1995 and 1996, Union Rohrbach / Berg became known far beyond the borders of Upper Austria due to the soaring of the football section.

Like the Christian-German gymnastics club Rohrbach, the Union Rohrbach / Berg contributes to social life in Rohrbach with numerous events. Currently, the Rohrbach city festival as well as the annual New Year's concert in the Centro event center should be mentioned here.

History of the football section until 1995

After the founding of the sports club in 1946, the soccer section was one of the first to operate in Rohrbach. Initially there were some difficulties as there was no sports facility with soccer fields. In November 1946 the football section in Upper Austria. Football Association was added and a few places in the Rohrbach settlement area served as a venue. In the 1947/48 season the first championship games were played. The Union Rohrbach / Berg belonged to the 2nd class - Group A Upper Mühlviertel. In 1953, after many difficulties, a sports field was built in Hanriederstrasse. Due to the construction of the field, all games had to be played away. In 1955 the new venue was owned by Upper Austria. Football association released for the 1955/56 championship and the space problem was solved. Maintaining Rohrbacher football was a difficult undertaking in the 1950s. In 1956, 17 championship games were played, a win and a draw were opposed to 15 defeats.

In the 1960s, the soccer section's performance improved. The 1962/63 season ended with 2nd place in 2nd class north. The following seasons were mostly ended with midfield placements. The highlight for Union Rohrbach / Berg was the game against the then national league team SK VÖEST in 1969. Despite a heavy defeat, Rohrbach was the first team to play against a team from the national league. 27 years after it was founded, the Rohrbach footballers were able to celebrate their first championship title. After two 2nd places in the 1971/72 and 1972/73 seasons, the long-awaited promotion to 1st class North succeeded in the 1973/74 season. This success was an impetus for the entire section. The work with young talent was now also consciously promoted. After two seasons in 1st class north, the next notable success was achieved - the runner-up title behind the Union Vorderweissenbach . In the 1977/78 season a great success followed in the history of Rohrbacher football. As the first team in the Rohrbach district, the Rohrbach footballers were promoted to the district league. Continuous work with young talent was the basis for Rohrbach's success. Between 1978 and 1985 the Union Rohrbach / Berg stayed in the district league. This was followed by descent into 1st class. The immediate promotion was missed because one goal too few had been scored throughout the season.

After the 1987/88 season there was a change in leadership in the football section. The new leadership set itself the goal of getting promoted to the district league as quickly as possible. The new sports facility in Rohrbach provided additional motivation. In autumn 1988, the first championship game could be played on the newly built soccer field. After the not very successful seasons in 1988/89 and 1989/1990, the Rohrbach officials were laughed at and no one believed in a rise again. The 1990/91 season was again the championship season and the Union Rohrbach / Berg made it to the district league. The 1990/91 season was fundamentally a season that went down in the Union's history books. The Rohrbach footballers were able to win a championship title with all teams that were active in the championship operation. Four junior teams as well as the reserve team and the combat team secured 1st place. After promotion to the district league, a midfield position was declared as the primary goal. In the end, the run of success was continued and the immediate promotion to the 2nd regional league East could be celebrated. The first season in the 2. Landesliga Ost was finished with 4th place. A great success was achieved in 1993 by winning the Mühlviertler Cup. After further successes in the Landescup (final participation), Union Rohrbach / Berg was able to qualify for the ÖFB Cup for the first time in the 1994/95 season . After a great start to the 1994/95 season, the football section continued to strengthen and so the championship title could be won, which was connected with promotion to the 1st regional league. The promotion came this season without a single defeat. From the 1995/96 season, the Rohrbacher played in the highest league in Upper Austria. During the summer break, the Mühlviertler Cup was won for the second time. Afterwards, the Landescup was brought to Rohrbach in a dramatic match against SV Andorf - the second largest football title in Upper Austria . The Rohrbach success run also continued in the 1st regional league and so one could secure the autumn championship title in the first season. In the end you had to be content with second place in the table. By increasing the Regionalliga Mitte, which was introduced in the 1994/95 season with 8 teams, to 14 teams (from the 1996/97 season ), the Rohrbach march could be continued into the Regionalliga Mitte together with master SV Esternberg and the third-placed Union Sankt Florian . From the 1996/97 season the Union Rohrbach / Berg played in the third highest league in Austria. This was the football section's greatest success.

ski

The ski section, like the football section, was founded in 1946 as a winter sports section. In the large family of winter sports enthusiasts, social character has always been in the foreground. Although Rohrbach was missing a real ski area, a real home route of the section developed around the Maria Trostberg. The routes were all spectacular, for example the tracks of the Mühlkreisbahn had to be crossed. The Rohrbach skiers also had a great route on the southern side of Maria Trostberg. After the installation of the first drag lift on the Hochficht , the section with its races also moved to the ski area that still exists today. Only children's ski races were subsequently held on the Rohrbacher slopes. In the post-war period, the section attaches great importance to school ski courses and school skiing. The section also organized company purchases for traders in the Rohrbach region. The club championships of the Union Rohrbach / Berg were mostly dominated by a few people for years. The Rohrbach racers were also very successful at the district level and took part in numerous races in the border area.

In cross-country skiing, the Schikanus run (see section athletics) attracted many sports enthusiasts from Rohrbach and athletes from the area. Cross-country skiing became known beyond the borders. Many top athletes from Upper Austria signed the list of winners.

The ski section currently looks after over 25 young racers who take part in various regional and national competitions. The figurehead of the ski section is Lukas Peherstorfer , who is part of the ski cross team of the Austrian Ski Association . Every year the ski section organizes a ski bazaar, a club championship and a local championship with the company run that has been known for years.

Athletics / triathlon

The athletics section was established in 1951 and tries to motivate the residents of Rohrbach and Berg to pursue athletic activities. The focus of the section is on the implementation of club championships, the acquisition of the Austrian sports and gymnastics badge (ÖSTA) and participation in athletics events. At the club championships there were always large fluctuations in the number of participants. Record participation was achieved in 1971 when 81 Rohrbachers took part in the competitions. In the past, Union Rohrbach / Berg attached great importance to the acquisition of the Austrian Sports and Gymnastics Badge (ÖSTA). The Union Rohrbach / Berg was always a pioneer in the Upper Austrian sports landscape with this decrease in performance. At this point in time, there is no more performance acceptance in Rohrbach, and performance acceptance in schools is no longer actively pursued.

The Rohrbach athletes have been able to enter the winners' lists since the beginning of the athletics section. Union Rohrbach / Berg was also well represented in athletic teams (relay races) and was able to provide many successful teams. Numerous district championship titles and top placements in state and federal competitions were achieved. In 1972, the then section head resigned from his position. The Union Rohrbach / Berg could not find a successor, which meant the temporary end of the section. In 1979 the resumption takes place and priority was given to setting up an athletics group for students. The number of members increased from year to year, which also brought numerous successes at various events. The Rohrbach running scene was dominated by two families. The Stallinger siblings were able to show successes in several disciplines, especially in cross-country and cross-country runs, they celebrated great successes. Gertrude Stallinger was even lured away by a major Linz club and after her athletics career is still causing a stir with a football career. She also played in the women's team at FC Bayern Munich and in the Austrian national team. From 1987 the Springer family caused a sensation in the section. Franz Springer and his sister Johanna Magauer also ensured great success in cross-country runs and developed into top runners in the Upper Austria area. In 1978, the Union Rohrbach / Berg organized for the first time the so-called ski canoes -Geländelauf. In total, this event was held eight times and made a name for itself in the Mühlviertler running scene. After great success, this run was also carried out with cross-country skis in winter. The Olympic bronze medal winner Theresia Kiesl also took part in these runs, as did top athletes from neighboring Bavaria and Czechoslovakia . In 1987 the Rohrbacher Stadtlauf replaced the chicanery run. The route no longer leads around the pilgrimage church Maria Trost , but through the center of Rohrbach.

After a not very active period, the section was reactivated in 1994 by some enthusiastic runners. Since 1995 there has also been a triathlon section of the Union Rohrbach / Berg as part of the athletics section. Numerous successes have been celebrated in both disciplines to this day. These include Michael Hofer's vice national championship title in the cross-striathlon (2011 and 2012), the vice national championship title of section head Robert Stoiber in the half marathon (2011) and the 3rd place for the Rohrbacher team in the mountain marathon championships in 2011. The main activity of the section is still the organization of the Rohrbacher Stadtlauf, which takes place annually in the summer months. The current section head is Robert Stoiber.

tennis

The first tennis court in the Rohrbach district was not built in the district capital, but in Lembach. Rohrbach followed in 1961, and the tennis section was founded in the course of the construction. The tennis court was built at the level of the OKA-Platz. The construction costs were divided between the province of Upper Austria , the tourism association and the Rohrbach / Berg Union. The first club championships were held in 1963. At the first district championships, the players of Union Rohrbach / Berg did equally well and were able to win their first titles. Over the years the number of members of the tennis section has also increased - tennis has become more and more popular in the district and in Rohrbach. From a sporting point of view, the Rohrbach players dominated the tennis scene in the entire district at the end of the 1960s. In 1971 it was decided to build a larger tennis facility to cope with the rush. The tennis facility near the swimming pool was opened in 1972. Before this facility was built, there was only one square in Rohrbach, which was located near the OKA square. Which also ensured success in the Mühlviertel and beyond the national borders. In 1979 the tennis facility was extended by two more courts and in 1983 the clubhouse was extended. In the heyday of Rohrbach tennis, the section had over 300 members, and from 1986 to 1989 an admission ban even had to be imposed because the capacities at both tennis courts and in the clubhouse were too low. This led to a renewed expansion of the tennis facility. In 1990 a tennis hall was under discussion, but this project failed due to the financing and the necessary property. As a compromise, the tennis facility was enlarged in 1995. The section currently has a clubhouse and 7 clay courts.

In the past, the tennis section organized a large number of courses and courses for the youngsters; these courses were also popular in other parts of the district, which characterized the work of the Rohrbach / Berg Union. The top performers of Union Rohrbach / Berg were soon poached by clubs in the central area in order to prove their talent far beyond the national borders. Therefore the Union Rohrbach / Berg always had to start weak in the team championships. In 1981 the Rohrbachers succeeded in advancing to 1st class and marching through to the regional class. After relegation and two seasons (1988, 1989) in 1st class, the promotion to the regional class could be fixed again. The second Rohrbacher team was also very successful and was also able to gain promotion to first class, where second place was even achieved in 1992. After some players changed sport, the first team could no longer hold its place in the regional class, so you had to start your way to first class. In 1994, the newly formed team was promoted to the district league. The Rohrbach tennis players were also very successful in the hall year after year. In the women's area, club championships in singles and doubles were mainly held. The Rohrbacher women were also very successful in the district and at Union state championships. Since, as with the men, the talented women were active in foreign clubs, the first women’s team was not set up until 1988. These women then took part in the SMW Cup. Over 15 teams took part in this women's tennis cup, and in 1990 the Rohrbach women were able to fight for victory. In 1991, this team went into the championship operation. The first championship title came in 1994 in the 1st class, which meant promotion to the regional class. In the years that followed, the women's team had to be dissolved, and attempts were made in the men's area to bind the best players in the area to Rohrbach. The men's team currently plays in the District League North A, the team consists of 6 players who compete in both singles and doubles.

Fistball

The fistball section , which still exists today, was founded in 1959. Fistball was already practiced in Rohrbach in the early 1930s, mostly on Sunday afternoons. Fistball was the most popular school sport in Rohrbach that all pupils were allowed to learn. A fistball section was established for the first time in 1950. The game was stopped after two seasons. After the second foundation, the first official fistball championship took place in the Rohrbach district in October 1959. Rohrbach was able to decide this for himself and was the first district champion in the Rohrbach district . In 1970 the Rohrbacher fistball team rose for the first time in the Upper Austrian regional league. The promotion only succeeded because another team withdrew and no longer played. The season in the Upper Austrian regional league was completed very successfully and so the march into the upper league (top division in Upper Austria) was fixed. However, the successful run could not be continued and it was followed by the prompt descent into the regional league and the district league. The indoor championship was still very successful. In the first season, the Rohrbachers were able to achieve promotion to the top indoor division in all of Austria. Due to the departure of players, the second season had to be completed with a youth team, which resulted in relegation to the lower leagues. However, the Rohrbacher fistball players knew how to inspire and so it was not uncommon for more than 400 spectators to watch the Union Rohrbach / Berg games at the wedding of the Rohrbacher fistball. After the collapse of the Rohrbach men's team in 1972, the youngsters tried to stay in the top division of Upper Austria - with very little success, and the Rohrbach men's soaring quickly turned into a descent. The fistball section set itself the goal of popularizing the sport of fistball in schools in order to find the talents that were needed for the new heights. In the 1970s, Union Rohrbach / Berg was able to celebrate great successes with young people at the state level. The Rohrbacher fistball men had a lean period until 1982. In 1983 the team failed in the promotion game for Upper Austria. State league at the fistball players of the city of Enns . With this low blow, the Rohrbacher fistball players went back to the fistball cellar instead of fighting their way up to the Bundesliga. From now on one had to rely on the youth again and the fistball section carried out a generation change, both with the players and in the functionaries area. In 1989 the Rohrbacher fistball men were able to successfully recruit again. The construction work is showing fruit and in the hall, the promotion to the highest league in Upper Austria could be achieved. The greatest success at that time was with the Upper Austria. National championship title in the hall (1992/93 season) can be achieved. With the championship title, the men were entitled to the promotion games in the 2nd Bundesliga. The promotion games were won and so the men were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga fistball. The fistball players were able to transfer the high-altitude flight in the hall to the field championship. After promotion to the indoor Bundesliga, promotion to the regional field league could also be achieved. The men's team could not keep the class, as in previous years, the descent followed.

Due to the enthusiasm that the men spread with their successes, the desire grew louder that a women's team should also be formed. The first attempts to walk were made in autumn 1970. Since there were not very many women's teams in the district, games on the field were limited to a district league and a regional league. In the indoor area there were only state championships. In 1971, the first games were played and the Rohrbach women caught the eye with third place at the state indoor championships. In the spring of 1971, the Rohrbacherinnen then went into the championship operation on the field and played the first games in the Linz district league. In the fall of 1971 two teams could be placed. Rohrbach I rose to the state league, which was the strongest league in Austria at the time. The fistball ladies from Rohrbach were always in the front third. In 1973 the first players of the Union Rohrbach / Berg were in Upper Austria. Appointed selection and then in the national team. In the years that followed, Rohrbach women were repeatedly appointed to the national team, who had the honor of holding up the red-white-red flags. The women were able to compensate for failures again and again, as a lot of importance was attached to the youth work from the beginning. After promotion to the Bundesliga in the 1986/87 season, the women's fistball played in the Bundesliga for the first time. In 1987, the Rohrbacher fistball players were able to achieve the Austrian championship title and from then on they were allowed to call themselves Austrian champions 1986/87. This is the greatest success of a team from the Union Rohrbach / Berg and has not yet been hired. At the same time, the second team fought for the title in the 2nd Bundesliga. After this successful season, Union Rohrbach / Berg was the only team in Austria to put two teams in the top division. In the longer term, however, you had to realize that this was no longer acceptable for the club because you could not have two equal players. The section management therefore decided in 1988/89 to merge the two teams and get out of the Bundesliga with one team. In the following years you could still achieve the title of vice state champion and were otherwise always in the middle. After many failures of regular players, in 1995 the gang had to start in the hall in the state league and on the field the relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga followed. In the 2013 game year, Union Rohrbach / Berg provided two women's teams and two junior teams. The first women's team plays in the Bundesliga field season. Tanja Hofer is the coach of the Bundesliga team.

A great success in 2012 was the U-20 world championship title of Rohrbacher player Katharina Lackinger, who led the Austrian national team to this title as captain. Through these achievements, she was elected Austrian youth fistball player 2012 and was "Rookie of the Year". Besides Katharina Lackinger, Luise Schlechtl is also in the current national team.

Stock sport

The stock shooting section was founded in 1955 and incorporated into the Rohrbach / Berg Union in 1978. Up until the 1960s, stick sport was a purely men's business and originally served to entertain and maintain camaraderie. An old Rohrbach tradition among stick athletes was and is roasting. In the Rohrbach district there were only 4 stick sports clubs until 1956, this has changed over time. With the construction of asphalt systems, the supposed winter sport became a year-round activity. In the early days, the stock sport section had over 150 members who competed in different classes. The stick athletes from Rohrbach have events throughout the year, including, for example, the local championship, street and settlement tournaments or, in summer, the Rohrbach stick shooting cup on the asphalt. Various competitions are also held at the district level. Silvia Kobler was appointed to the national team as the first Rohrbacher pole athlete in 1999. Other successes of the section include the top placements at the school country championships in 1993 and 1997.

volleyball

The volleyball section was founded by the Rohrbach / Berg Union in 1986 as the women's volleyball section. In the first year this team was promoted to 1st class. In the following season, some reinforcements were recorded and even an Austrian national volleyball player was signed. After promotion to 1st class, this strongly positioned team promptly made it through to the state league and became champions in 1st class without losing a set. In the 1987/88 season, some failures had to be dealt with. Due to this weakening, the national league could not be held as a division. The 88/89 season was mainly contested with students from the Rohrbach Commercial Academy and a table position in the midfield was achieved (1st class). For personnel reasons, the section had to be dissolved in 1990.

The volleyball section has been active again in the Union Rohrbach / Berg since 1999. In the summer, various beach volleyball tournaments are played by active section members as well as on the Rohrbach beach volleyball facility. In winter, Union Rohrbach / Berg competes in tournaments at district level. The section provides several mixed teams and also has a youth department, which has already achieved great success at the state level. Union Rohrbach / Berg secured its greatest success in the past in the mixed competition of the Upper Austrian Volleyball Association and was promoted to the middle play-off group A in the 2012/13 season.

Further sections

In addition to the sections already mentioned, Union Rohrbach / Berg also operates the Fitsport, Judo and Karate sections . The Fitsport section is the youngest section of the Union Rohrbach / Berg and was founded in 1995. The section has set itself the goal of offering the people in Rohrbach various fitness courses such as ski gymnastics in autumn, year-round children's gymnastics or senior gymnastics. The Judo section was founded in 1989 and is incorporated into the Mühlviertel judo performance center. Training communities are formed with various judo clubs from the Mühlviertel. The karate section existed from 1977 to 1979 and was reactivated in 1997. Countless successes have been celebrated at state and federal level in the youth sector in recent years.

Former sections

The following sections are no longer actively operated:

Weight training

The weight training section was founded in 1971 and continued until 1973. The first training sessions took place in 1971 in the main school gymnasium. As the first competition, a squad of 5 strength athletes competed in comparison matches with Bavarian athletes. The match was lost due to a lack of technique and a lack of routine. In 1973, a championship entry was targeted, but this could not be achieved due to accidents, job-related absence and other reasons. Because of the small number of athletes, the section was dissolved again in 1973.

chess

Chess was played privately in Rohrbach at the beginning or at the bathing area at the Große Mühl. From 1950 onwards, weekly chess meetings were held in local inns. With the introduction of regular championship operations for the north-western district of the Mühlviertel , the chess section of the club was founded. In the autumn of 1982 the championship of the 2nd class Northwest was started. The Rohrbacher chess pub was located in the former Reisinger inn. From the championship year 1984/85, Union Rohrbach / Berg sent two teams into the race. The first team finished the championship in 2nd place and thus rose to first class. Due to the larger team strength (8 instead of 4 players) the two teams had to be merged. The season in the first class could be finished in 3rd place. In the summer of 1986, most of the high-performing players moved to other clubs, while only a few young players joined the club, as chess was no longer taught in schools. In the years 1986 to 1988 there was again a team in the 2nd class. After further changes of players, the Union Rohrbach / Berg could no longer provide a team in the championship year 1988/89, which is why the section withdrew from the Upper Austria Regional Association of the Austrian Chess Federation .

swim

The swimming section was founded in 1970 one year after the Rohrbach outdoor pool opened. In the first years the section mainly organized swimming competitions for all enthusiastic swimmers in the upper Mühlviertel. In 1971 there were over 250 starters in a relay swim. From 1972 the section began with regular swimming training for children and young people. The first comparative fights were held. In winter, swimming was relocated to the indoor swimming pool in Haslach an der Mühl . At the first Union championships in Neuhofen an der Krems , Union Rohrbach / Berg provided the majority of the winners. Since the main training time of the Rohrbachers was limited to the summer, ground was quickly lost to other clubs that were able to carry out year-round training. At the state championships in 1974, however, some top placings were achieved, and the Union state championships were just as successful. From 1976 the section set new goals and in the future refrained from competitive sports and only offered swimming lessons for children and young people. In 1981 the Union Rohrbach / Berg was selected as the organizer of the Union state championships. In the course of this competition, the last successes could be celebrated before the section was about to end in 1983. The section was abandoned due to a lack of training opportunities.

Table tennis

The table tennis section was founded with the general club in 1946. There was both a men's and a women's team. The table tennis players took part in various regional competitions from the start. Among other things, they won over the table tennis strongholds of Perg, Mathausen and Grein. In autumn 1954 the first table tennis championships were held in Rohrbach. With the departure of the then section head, the section had no leadership until 1964 and became inactive. The table tennis section was not revived until 1964. From then on, the focus was mainly on young players. Some successes could be achieved with this team until 1970.

The table tennis section also founded the Obermühlviertel table tennis league , in which the towns of Haslach, Oberkappel , Helfenberg , Sankt Martin im Mühlkreis and Oberneukirchen competed . After the section head had to give up his post for professional reasons in 1970, table tennis in Rohrbach lost interest again. In 1974 the section was re-established and from autumn 1974 they took part in the Upper Austrian table tennis championship. In the first championship year (1974/75) the Union Rohrbach / Berg reached 5th place in 1st class. In the following championship year (1975/76) a second team was sent into the race, which occupied the ranks 5 and 10. In 1976/77 they improved to fourth place. The Rohrbach youngsters were also able to celebrate some successes during this time: In 1977/78 the Union Rohrbach / Berg achieved their greatest success and won the championship title in 1st class Rohrbach. The championship title was also the right to promotion to the district class north. At this point in time, the Rohrbach youngsters were already playing in the regional class for pupils, the second highest division in Upper Austria. In the championship year 1978/79 the ultimate goal of relegation could be achieved and the 7th place was occupied. In 1979 the student team rose to the state league and was the third best team there. The game year 1979/80 was also the last game year of the table tennis section. In the district class north, the excellent 3rd place was achieved. After the departure of the players and some officials, however, the game could no longer be maintained. The section was deregistered from the Upper Austrian Table Tennis Association in 1980.

Sports facilities in Rohrbach

The first sports field of the Union Rohrbach / Berg was the Berger Turnplatz. In 1929 the first gym was added. The location was the current secondary school - currently Rohrbach has 4 gyms (elementary school, secondary school, vocational school, vocational schools (HAK / HLW)) and the district sports hall, which is also used by the grammar school in Rohrbach. The sports field in front of the Schwefeldarra (Hanriederstraße) was used for the first soccer games. During the occupation there was an interim solution with a sports field in Grabenstrasse. In 1955, the former sports field in Hanriederstrasse opposite the Rohrbach hospital was expanded to include an athletics facility and changing rooms and was officially opened. In 1969 the first swimming pool was opened in Rohrbach. The district sports hall already mentioned was opened in September 1979 and has been continuously refurbished in recent years. The current sports field was opened on July 12, 1987 and, in addition to the main field, has a side field, a modern athletics facility (running track, jumping mat, long jump facility and shot put facility) as well as a clubhouse with canteen and changing facilities. The tennis facility in Rohrbach has been continuously expanded and renovated since 1961. The stock sport section was initially located on the two asphalt tracks in front of the district sports hall until a new stock sports hall was built on the exhibition grounds in 1995/96. In October 2011, the main field at the Rohrbach sports facility was expanded to include a floodlight system. In 2014, an artificial turf pitch was built in Rohrbach, which also has new floodlights. Other sports facilities in Rohrbach are the two beach volleyball courts and the AquaRo outdoor pool, which was reopened in 2003.
