The National University of Tucumán ( Spanish Universidad Nacional de Tucumán ; UNT) is a public university in San Miguel de Tucumán , the capital of the smallest Argentine province of Tucumán in Argentina. It was founded in 1914.

The French ethnologist Alfred Métraux founded an ethnological institute and the ethnographic museum here in 1928. He also organized the publication of the Revista del Instituto de Etnología .
