The Untere Wildgrubenspitze (rarely the Große Wildgrubenspitze ) is the highest mountain in the Lechquellen Mountains . It reaches a height of 2753 m above sea level. A. and is located west of Zürs . It is named after the Große Wildgrube, a remote, low-vegetation, rubble-filled high valley in the south of the mountain. The first ascent was made by Andreas Madlener in 1877 .
About one kilometer to the north, at the upper end of the valley rising from Zürs to Madlochjoch, is the Obere Wildgrubenspitze (also called Kleine Wildgrubenspitze ) at an altitude of 2625 m above sea level. A. In the western ridge of the Lower (Large) Wildgrubenspitze, towards the Roggalspitze , the Middle Wildgrubenspitzen (up to 2696 m above sea level ) are still located.
You can reach the summit from the Ravensburger Hütte via Schneegrube, Nadelscharte and the southwest ridge. Climbing in II. To III. Degrees to be mastered. The ascent from the north side, from Lake Zürs and through the Grätligrube is easier ( UIAA I +) and secured with wire ropes.
