Location and surroundings

The Roggalspitze is a rugged, rugged rock summit made of steeply erect slabs of light Oberrat limestone , which rises above the alpine pastures of the Brazer Stafel in the east of the Lechquellen Mountains . A rocky ridge runs to the southeast to the 2753  m high Untere Wildgrubenspitze .

The Roggalspitze offers a comprehensive view that is only restricted by a few higher peaks in its vicinity: In the north you can look over the Lechquellen Mountains to the Bregenzerwald and the Allgäu Alps with the striking Widderstein , with views of the Baden-Württemberg and Bavarian Alpine foothills. This is followed by the main ridge of the Allgäu Alps, in front of which are some peaks of the Lechtal Alps . To the right of this, the massive Zugspitze massif appears on the horizon , to the right in front of it are the highest peaks of the Lechtal Alps with the Parseierspitze . The nearby, higher Untere Wildgrubenspitze blocks the distant view to the east. To the right of it, some high peaks of the Ötztal Alps ( Watzespitze , Langtauferer Spitze , Weißkugel ) appear in the distance , in front of which you can see the Verwall . The Ortler peaks out from behind the rugged Patteriol . In the south you can see almost all the high peaks of the Silvretta , in front of that the Verwall. To the right of the Silvretta, high mountains such as Piz Kesch , Piz Julier and Piz Platta can be seen in the distance . To the southwest, the view sweeps over the main ridge of the eastern and central Rätikon to the Brandner Glacier, with views to peaks (e.g. Pizzo Tambo ) on the Swiss-Italian border, the Adula Alps with the Rheinwaldhorn and the Glarus Alps with Ringelspitz and Tödi . In the depths are the nearby Spullersee and the Ravensburger Hut. To the right of the Rätikon you can see the Glärnisch , the Uri Rotstock , and the Churfirsten and the Alpstein in the distance above the nearby mountains of the Lechquellengebirge . The nearby Spullerschafberg and the Mehlsack block the view to the north-west. To the right behind them, further Lechquellen mountain peaks appear, which allow a view of the Swabian Alb . To the right of the Braunarlspitze massif you can see some mountains of the Bregenz Forest in the north.
