Unterlöwenthal is a district of the municipality Weiding in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria .
Geographical location
The three properties of the Einöde Unterlöwenthal are located in the valley of the Hüttenbach south of Stadlern. Counting from Stadlern, the mill in Unterlöwenthal is the sixth mill in the Hüttenbach valley (above: Stadlermühle , Tobacco Mill , Cäcilienmühle (ruin), Sägmühle , Andreasthal ). Weiding is around 3.5 kilometers away by road.
Population development
The 1871 census found eight residents, a building and two cattle. At the last census on May 25, 1987, the place had a residential building with one apartment and three residents.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Löwenthal was listed as part of the Catholic parish Weiding with one house and 13 souls. On December 31, 1990 Löwenthal had 6 parishioners and belonged to the parish of Weiding.
Culture and sights
The former mill, a hipped roof building from the 17th / 18th centuries Century, is used today (2012) as a horse stable. The mill engine duct is well preserved and drives an ornamental water wheel.
