Untermitterdorf is a parish village in the municipality of Kirchberg im Wald in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen .

Untermitterdorf is located in the Bavarian Forest on State Road 2134 about 3.5 kilometers southeast of Kirchberg im Wald.
history
Mitterndorf or Mitterndorf , first reported in the Urbar of Niederaltaich Abbey was in the Electorate of Bavaria a chairman shaft of the District Court rain . From the municipal edict of 1818 Untermitterdorf belonged to the former municipality of Raindorf until the municipal reform.
In place of the village chapel, which was demolished in 1864, architect Michael Kurz built the current church between 1900 and 1912 . Originally a branch of Kirchberg, Untermitterdorf became a branch in 1885 and an independent parish on March 15, 1921 . In addition to Untermitterdorf, it also includes Hintberg, Kaltenbrunn, Schönbrunn and Berneck. Since 1981 it has been united with Kirchberg im Wald to form a parish association .
Attractions
The parish church of the Visitation of Maria is a neo-baroque, single-nave building, the nave is three-bay with a retracted choir, barrel vaults and stitch caps. The high altar and pulpit are baroque. The side altars depict saints Rochus and Franz Xaver on paintings . Baroque figures in the chancel show Christ as the good shepherd and saints Joachim , Wolfgang and Gotthard .

societies
On June 3, 1894, the Untermitterdorf Voluntary Fire Brigade was founded, the FC Untermitterdorf 1948. The FC Untermitterdorf leads many soccer teams; not just men's and boys 'teams, but also a girls' team.
