criticism
Vicky Butscher from Laut.de praised the successful composition of the album from different styles and melodies in order to create as much variety as possible. He also noted the resemblance to the band The Libertines , which can no longer be denied at the latest from Rock 'n' Roll Lies , which he justified with "Allegedly, Fron [t] mann Johnny Borrell also played there as an auxiliary bassist". "[...] Those who don't finish listening to the songs have lost anyway" and "will never get into pieces like Up All Night or To the Sea ."
Britta Kinkeldei from the music magazine Intro was very positive about Up All Night . She too drew the conclusion that it was “all in all a gaudy mixture of calm poetry and energy” and that she was looking forward to future Razorlight projects. According to her, Razorlight is already competing with the libertines.
Trivia
The song included on the album Do not Go Back to Dalston is a tribute to Pete Doherty is from the Libertines, who had to contend with a strong drug addiction. With this song Johnny dedicated his hopes and encouragement for recovery.
